So here's an update... One month was not enough! I want to do this challenge justice and also use a lot of the product and in a month, I didn't do that properly. So I've updated the challenge to a new product line every TWO months. So hello September, and hello I'm still loving my Camille Rose Naturals! This month I'll be adding reviews of some of other products I'v been using in the line and also a look at different hair styles I'll try! Like this one! (Lots of curl maker and creme gel used here... And my Kinky Curly Yaki clip ins.

By: Aviyah![]() So it's the first month of my year long healthy hair challenge. It's where I'm trying a new hair line each month and only that line along with protective styling and care to improve the health of my hair. So today I started using Camille Rose Naturals and can I say it smells like heaven? Like I can't stop inhaling to sniff my hair. Tonight I washed my hair and used the deep conditioner. Even though it's cocoa mango, the deep conditioner smells like vanilla cake... and it even has the consistency of cake batter. I love it just for that. (Y'all know I like heavy products) Here's my hair before using anything on it. We will use this as the before photos for the challenge. ![]() Here's the deep conditioner from heaven. (Or at least the bakery because it smells edible)... its feels super thick and heavy but when it gets on your hair it feels nice and light. The ingredient list is beautiful: from vitamin e, to peppermint oil, shea butter, coconut oil, hemp seed and many other awesome ingredients. With all that in a jar how can it not be wonderful? I've read other Naturals get hooked after one week.... maybe I shouldn't have tried this line first? But I digress.... I washed my hair and slicked it back into a low pony and tied it up for the night... Yeah I left the deep conditioner in, I know I know I'm supposed to be taking better care of my hair, it's the first month, give me a break! Lol
By: AviyahSo while at America's Beauty Show I kept hearing about products to air dry hair. My thought aren't all natural hair products to be used for air drying? I got the Pureology Hudrate Trio. I don't think it's technically for curly hair but I'm told it works: But I tried it out! I washed my hair and conditioned it with the shampoo and conditioner. The shampoo really lathered with just a little and the conditioner had a nice minty feel to it. (I love love love the mint in my conditioners) The "hydrate" air dry crime felt very very light when I put it on, unlike many other wash and go products. So how did it work? Its winter so I don't do the traditional wash n go, I wash, bun, sleep and go, meaning I put my hair in a top bun after I apply the product. No brushing no combing, just hands. This way it also stretches the bottom for better length retention. In the morning I take down the bun and hopefully my hair is still a little damp, add more product shake and go. Once it dried, here's the final look: My hair feels bouncy but and free but not as conditioned as I like. (I really like heavy products). I think this would be really good for type 3 curly hair but I don't hate it.
By: Aviyah![]() I started off with dry hair and slicked my edges back. Sprayed my hair with my peppermint water mix. Separated the front from the back (ignore my bootleg parts and my kitchen haha!) Pinned the front away to focus on the back. French braided the back in a "U" and pinned the leftover to the side of the braid. Then put the front with pins until I got the puff right where I wanted it. Wasn't thrilled with the look until I put my scarf on and then I loved it! By: Aviyah |
