Pompadour Style

Picture
I started off with dry hair  and slicked my edges back.
Sprayed my hair with my peppermint water mix.
Separated the front from the back (ignore my bootleg parts and my kitchen haha!)
Pinned the front away to focus on the back.
French braided the back in a "U"  and pinned the leftover to the side of the braid.
Then put the front with pins until I got the puff right where I wanted it.
Wasn't thrilled with the look until I put my scarf on and then I loved it!

Chocolate Milk Honey Mask

I absolutely love chocolate 🍫 but in trying to make care of my skin more and eat less sweets, if find chocolate is less frequently on my menu. So if I can't eat it, I might as well put it to good use: as a facial mask! That way if you "accidentally" lick your lips you know it's safe!
Picture

For this you'll need:

Picture
  • 2-3 tablespoons of Honey
  • 1 tablespoon of powdered buttermilk
  • 1/2 tablespoon or cocoa powder

Why those ingredients?

Chocolate (or cocoa powder) has plenty of antioxidants. It's best to use cocoa powered with 70% or more of cacao. It's also good for firming and boosting your skin tone.

Honey is a natural humectant, meaning it draws moisture from the air into the skin and ensures it's retained it in the skin. It's also great for your pores! The enzymes in raw honey clarify skin and keep pores clear. Honey also helps to keep skin tight!

Buttermilk is a natural pro-biotic, rich in lactic acid.  Lactic acid is found in many expensive beauty products and for softening, brightening and exfoliating skin.  Because of it’s highly acidic and astringent nature, it treats age spots, freckles and even tightens skin.

PLUS The aroma actually stimulates the serotonin in your brain making for an extremely relaxing facial.
Picture
Mix all the ingredients and apply with your finger to your face. You can even apply to your lips for nice soft puckeroos!
MESS ALERT! Be careful of your eyes (it burns) and make sure you are wearing some old clothes as it could get messy. I like to put this mask on and get in the tub, I also put any leftovers in the tub with me (I like my entire body to be nice, healthy and soft wouldn't you?)

Picture
Leave the mask on for 10-20 minutes and rinse off with warm water .
Pat dry and follow with a moisturizer (or oil before bed if you are into that type of thing lol)

Omg, if you're having a sweaty, hot day in the summer (I live in Texas, so that's almost everyday for me) this soap will chill you right off! The peppermint smell isn't overwhelming and it leaves you cool and tingly! And it's organic and that's always a plus!

You can find this wonderful soap near the bath soaps at Target for about $16.99

"Sweep away visible dark circles with the gentle massaging motion of the cooling tri-ball applicator. Instantly tired eyes are refreshed and clever color correcting pigments conceal under eye dark shadows. A unique blend powered by Vitamin C, works to prevent and reduce the appearance of dark circles. Skin smoothing Lipopeptides help to improve firmness and tone around the eye contour. In just 2 weeks, dark circles and puffiness are visibly reduced. "

  • Used For: Brightening, color correction
  • For Use On: Eye Area
  • Product Form: Serum
  • Scent: Scented
  • Travel Size: Yes
  • Capacity: Total Volume: 0.5 Oz.

Right on the box it says it "reduces the appearance of dark circles in two weeks." It also depuffs, revitalizes and brightens instantly but I only care about dark circles. So two weeks huh? Challenge accepted!

So here are my eyes at day one, before putting on the eye cream: (my dark circles don't look so bad in pictures but my bathroom lighting isn't the best, ugh! Someone recommend a great natural light bulb please! But I digress!) So again, here are my eyes/dark circles, ignore my break out areas.

I have dark circles... Have always had dark circles... Drinking extra water doesn't help, Sleeping more doesn't help...
Rather than make my own concoction, I decided to try something from the pros this time.  I went to Ulta and asked what they had for dark circles. I thought the sales associate was going to hand me a $95 product (which I may have tried, I was feeling splurgish). But she took me to the left side of the store (where the not so expensive items are) and showed me No7 Beautiful Skin Dark Circle Corrector...

My Dark Circles Preproduct:

I applied the "dark circle corrector" (it has these three little metal balls you roll under your eyes). It is very light not heavy like a concealer nor thick like an eye cream. I use it twice a day and under my make up  (when I wear it).  Pearl extract helps reflect light while the gold liquid counteracts the blue tone of under eye shadows. Don't be tempted to overdo it, even putting as much on as the picture on the left shows would be too much and could cause flaking (ew).

I'll Update in Two Weeks!
Here's My Update!  7/29/15 (2 weeks later) I don't think it worked... What do you think?

Compare the two:

After Two Weeks

All I think Is that my eyebrows look worse than they did two weeks ago and my dark circles still suck.
